Currently membership is free at ACMSC.
If RC sailing is not new to you and already know what you are getting into SKIP to Step 3 below.

There are a few things you should do before becoming a member. At this point the only mandatory thing is a membership form that requires about 1 minute of your time to fill out. There are many other things involved with this hobby such as rules of sailing, the class owners association depending on which boat you own, the American Model Yachting Association, the sanctioning body for RC sailing in the US. You do not need to be a member of these associations to join our club, nor should you be afraid of all these terms. There is nothing complicated about it and if you would like to learn more about them please ask away, otherwise you will learn more as times goes on if you choose to take up the RC sailing hobby.

Step 1: If you are not sure whether this hobby is for you, please come and observe one of our events. You will be able to ask questions and even try your hand at sailing one of our boats. (Check out our Club Info, Calendar and Where We Sail Sections)

Step 2: If you are interested in joining you will more than likely want to purchase your own boat. There are quite a few choices out there and you may want to take the time to understand your choices. Please ask questions if you are new to this hobby and visit our Links Page and browse some of the links. At this time ACMSC is predominantly formed of Kyosho Seawind 1 Meter Sport Class boats but you are welcome to choose any other competitive boat. Most of our members own other class boats. Regardless of what boat you choose you will be welcome to join the fun every time.

Step 3: Once you have decided what boat to buy please either stop by one of our events or contact us through email to request a radio frequency assignment for your boat so that when you purchase your boat you will be able to select a frequency that will not interfere with the frequencies other club members are using.
