ACMSC Frequency Chart Policy

The purpose of this document is to define the clubs policy on assigning/maintaining frequencies. Since there are only a limited amount of channels available for use (FCC regulations dictate the usage of only 27mhz or 75mhz surface frequencies for our boats), how the club manages these channels is extremely important. The policies contained in this document are final, and can only be over-ruled with a 2/3rds majority vote from the members of the club.

1. Twenty-Three Channel Phenomenon (TTCP) exists between channels 61-67 and 84-90. The ACMSC does not recognize claims to any frequency that will cause TTCP with another members frequency.

2. ACMSC-recognized retrieval/tow boats always have frequency priority over every other boat. This boat may change from event to event depending on which boat is available for that event. Although every effort will be made to inform members of any changes to the frequency being used by these boats prior to races, it is highly recommended that members have several spare frequency crystal sets to use.

3. The ACMSC welcomes any RC sailboat to participate in its events. However, frequency priority will be given to boats that belong to the class thats being contested for that individual event (for example, if the One Meter Sport Class is being contested, those boats will have priority over 32 Sport or any other class of boat ).

4. Frequencies are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and can be requested upon applying for membership to the club. In order for anyone to reserve an open frequency, a completed and signed ACMSC membership application must be on file. When a new member requests membership, the membership chair person will inform them about which frequencies might be currently available.

5. Members may only reserve one frequency on the chart. Members that sail multiple classes of boats need to maintain them on their assigned frequency.

6. In order for a member to maintain their frequency on the ACMSC frequency chart, they must participate in at least four racing events during the calendar year. If a member fails to meet this requirement, their frequency will be subject to reassignment to new members as needed at the beginning of each calendar year.

7. Guests and visitors will be assigned temporary frequencies (as available) on an event-by-event basis. In the event of a TTCP situation, the higher frequency takes priority.

8. The ACMSCs loaner racing boat reserves use channel 78 ( 75.750mhz ).

9. Members are strongly encouraged to obtain multiple sets of crystals for alternate frequencies.
